Gators defeat Scoggins 10/27/09

The Gators beat Scoggins 47-6 last night at Wakeland. Zach from the Wildcats played for Scoggins. Alex played alot of kickoffs since we kept scoring so many touchdowns. He also played alot of defensive end getting a tackle. He had a really big guy on him and just couldn't get off of him. Ryan had a good game scoring with 2 td receptions. Little Brady also had a good game with a couple of interceptions and td's. We enjoy sitting with all of our Wildcat friends and watching the game. I saw the boys at lunch yesterday and they all sit together, plus other football players. They moved 3 times to different tables until all of them were together. 16 of them scrunched together. It was so funny! The boys that didn't fit were at a table next to them all sitting at the end closest to Alex's table. They have to be together. I hope it stays that way.

Moma and Daddy

Sunny weekend but more rain....

We had a beautiful, sunny weekend--FINALLY!! The league still cancelled Joey's soccer game on Saturday--Charlie and I were so disappointed! I guess the fields are still too wet. We love watching Joey play soccer and it feels like it's been forever since they've played. Friday were the school Fall Dances at Griffin. Ben went to the 6th grade dance with his friends. He came to the car with a RED face and out of breath! He said he danced the whole time! He is so funny. He also said he had a "possy" following him around (Ashley, Julia, Laura, Riley, Sam). I bet the teachers couldn't believe it when their straight A, perfect Ben was dancing like crazy to all the songs. Alex & Joey went to the 7th/8th grade dance that followed the 6th graders. They didn't dance like Ben did, but I think they did dance some. They were mostly watching the girls. Alex said that Joey stood by Taylor the whole time :0! After the dance, Christy picked up the boys and took them back to her house to hang out for a couple of hours. There were boys and girls there and they watched "Goonies" and ate snacks. No drama, just goofy middle school stuff going on.

Saturday night, Charlie & I went to a surprise 40th for Rob. It was a lot of fun. We had Vegas tables set up so we played Roulette and Craps most of the night. Charlie played Blackjack too. Rob was surprised. It was nice to see some people we hadn't seen in a while too.

Sunday, Joey went to Taylor's house to watch the Cowboy game. They go to our church, so I met her mother after church. I think Joey & Taylor really like each other, as much as possible at 12 years old. She better not hurt my baby. Ben played with Ashley & Matthew and they made up more riddles and made clay figures. They were trying to make a movie out of their clay figures like Nightmare Before Christmas, but it didn't work out. Alex played football with a bunch of his buddies most of the day. Charlie chilled and watched football all day.

It's Monday and guess what???? IT'S RAINING AGAIN!!!!! I hate rain.

Flour Baby Week

Alex had a baby! It's "Smash Alexander Zerbo" with Stewie's face. He has to take care of this "flour baby" the whole week for his Skills for Living class. It is a 5 pound bag of flour covered in duct tape. (they donate all the flour when they are finished with the project.) We borrowed one of Ben's kee-kee's to use as his blanket. Alex has to keep his "baby" with him at all times during school and has to take care of it. He can't throw it in his locker or leave it on the floor, etc. They can get classmates to babysit for them. During football, the coaches have a special place for all the babies. I guess a "football day care" ha ha. When I'm at the school today making copies, I'm going to see where baby Smash is. I think if you are a twin, you should have twin flour babies to take care of, right??!!

A Ben Drawing

Check out this drawing Ben did...he just drew it one day while sitting at the table. He always comes in from school or playing and just sits and draws. He is so amazing! I don't know how he does it. I thought this one was great, so I snapped a picture. Who do you think this is????

Jacob wins Carnival King!!

Jacob and his girlfriend, Maci, won the Agra Carnival King and Queen on 10/13/09 at the Halloween Carnival. This is a big event in Agra. The high school classes sell tickets and the class that sells the most, wins! The sophomore class beat out the senior class. Jacob had to kiss his little girlfriend in front of a gymnasium full of people. I saw the video and he did well. Ben saw the video and said "that's it???"! Jacob just turned 16 on October 8th and got his drivers license last week. He's a great kid who loves to play basketball!! Moma was carnival queen back in her day--1961 crowned by Donnie Hale.

Gators lose to Pioneer 16-12

Gators lost to the "one man show" from the Trojans of the FFL. Just like he did on the Trojans, #20 Andre Horton did everything for them. So glad our team has many players who play well and they don't have to rely on one guy to do it all. Grant & Rodney from the Wildcats played for Pioneer and several of the Longhorn players too. Grant had a good game and I saw Alex patting him on the back. They both played outside linebackers for the Wildcats and I know Alex misses him. It was a great game--very exciting, even Ben said it was exciting! :-). Alex played well-- holding the Panthers at the Gator 20 yard line in the 4th quarter. A bad snap gave the Panthers the ball on the Gator 5 yard line and they scored the go-ahead TD. Alex didn't seem to mind losing--just worried about what cheerleaders will text him next. He's having fun playing football with all of his buddies. Record is 4-1 with 3 more games to go. I went to the pep rally yesterday before we passed out the football sandwiches. The band sounded great and the cheerleader were good. All of the volleyball players were there too along with the football players.

It's raining again today...so sick of the rain!!! I'm sure Joey's soccer game will be cancelled tonight. We can't wait to watch him play again. It feels like it's been forever since we've had a soccer game. Charlie said he had a great practice last night.

Love the sun!

The sun finally came out and stayed out for the weekend! It was so nice to not see rain and clouds. Jacob & JoHannah came down on 10/15. I met Mom & Dad in Pauls Valley and brought them home to stay for the weekend. The boys love it when they are here and love playing with them and just hanging out. JoHannah & Ben stayed at CC's the whole weekend. Jacob stayed here Friday night with Alex and Joey. We watched the OU vs UT game Saturday and grilled some wings. What a game! It was so exciting to watch even if our Sooners didn't win. All the kids went to CC's on Saturday for the night, except Joey. Joey went to the SMU vs. Navy football game with Derek. He dropped his cell phone in the urinal while he was at the game (gross!!) and it's still not working. SMU lost in overtime, but they still had fun. Sunday was a great day just hanging out at home getting some things done and watching football. We are now ready for some Texans soccer and Gator football this week! Stay away rain!!

Gators win again

Gators beat Creek Valley (Lewisville ISD) 20-8 tonight. Alex got a fumble recovery, yeah!!!!! I made sure Josh got it right on the announcement so that everyone knew it was #32 Zerbo that got that recovery! :-) Coach Eli was there to watch his Wildcats play.

Next week is Pioneer--the one man show from the Trojans. Let's hope they can pull it off and beat them. Go Gators!!!!

Raining still......

So sick of the rain. No soccer game on Saturday, no outdoor practice all week or this week so far. Stop raining already!

Gator Football 10/6/09

Gators beat Staley 14-0. Game was called with 3 minutes left in 2nd quarter due to lightning. Alex played several defensive plays and sacked the QB for a 15 yard loss. He was so excited after he made the sack that he threw his arms in the air and jumped up & down! He gets so excited when he makes a big play like that and so do I!! Go #32~~~

Weekend Update

Seemed like we had a really busy weekend. Friday night the boys went to Christy's to hang out with Ryan and some other friends, so Charlie & I ate dinner at Josephine's. It was delicious! Saturday Joey played ASG and won 1-0 (Joey got the winning and only goal!) I met up with Twila and Rhonda Bean for the afternoon. We ate lunch and shopped and then watched the OU game at Rhonda's house in Denton. Sunday was the usual....laundry. yuck!

Ready for the weekend!!!

Charlie & I get a date night tonight! The kids are going to Ryan's house to hang out so we get to go to dinner by ourselves. It's so nice to be able to do this more often. Saturday I'm meeting up with Twila and Rhonda Bean to hang out for a little while and then I'm watching the OU game. Let's hope they win!!! Boomer Sooner!!

Whiz Kid....

Ben created a Science test for us last night. He's so smart and typed it up just like a teacher would, probably better. Joey & Alex made 85's and Charlie made a 96. I refused to take it because I know absolutely nothing about Science!! I looked up Ben's grades today, last day of the first 6 weeks---all high A's. He's amazing. He will be volunteering for the Art teacher at curriculum night Monday to show the parents how to do the art project they are demonstrating. The art teachers are all over Ben!! Keep it up Ben!
Picture is of Ben at curriculum night where he helped at the Art station. He showed the parents and students how to make the art project he's holding.
